These metallic cords are braided with 16 metallic thread braided around a white central nylon core. Each individual thread has a gimp construction just like the Japanese metallic thread/cord available here.
  
  
Use the 0.9mm cord as a pendant cord with a 1.5mm clasp, or for the projects shown here. The 0.7 will make more delicate bracelets.

Compare Colors - Platinum vs Silver - Platinum, cooler with a slight blue cast. Silver, warmer but still a bight silver color. Rich Gold vs Rich Gold - Metallic Gold is is warmer but still a bight silver color. Platinum is cooler with a slight blue cast. Metallic Copper - Great match for bright copper or rose gold. |

Compare Diameters
0.9mm - In between the Fine/New Fine and 1mm Chinese Knotting Cord, and thicker than C-Lon Tex 400.
0.7mm - A tad thicker than the Chinese Knotting Cord Size H, and thicker than the standard C-Lon Bead Cord.
Cords ends can be melted just like Chinese Knotting Cord. Cut the metallic braided cords with a thread burner to keep the braid's end from opening up. The metallic braids retain their round shape.
Personal Note - These metallic cords are very strong. They can be knotted, braided and crocheted. I have been playing with the bracelets shown here and tested them as cords for pendants. For the 0.9mm braided cord use the sterling silver 1.5mm clasp available HERE. The gold filled 1.5mm clasps will also work with the gold cord. I will test them next for square knot bracelets, earrings and more... So stay tuned and let me know if you would like a sample of this cord with your next order.
