The Tuff Nylon Bead Cord is a 3 ply twisted bonded cord made from long nylon filaments available in 16 colors and several sizes. It will not stretch or stain, and resists fraying and shredding under most condition. The Size 5 is comparable to the C-Lon Bead Cord, D&E/Mastex Nylon #18 and Conso Nylon #18. All 16 colors are available in Size 1, 3 and 5. Some colors are available in Size 2. Only Black and White are available in Size 0, 6 and 7. This brand was created for bead stringing with a small output of 1/4 ounce (7.08g.). The quality of this thread, the variety of sizes and some of the colors available are without competition in the current offering of thread. Additionally this thread is spooled without tack, so it comes out without any marks or creases from the spool. The Tuff Nylon Bead Cord may be similar or the same exact thread sold under other labels such as Stringth and Silkon, but be aware that the spools under these other labels are spooled by yards, not weight, making price comparison a little more difficult. The Tuff Bead Cord can be used for simple or complex beading projects, micro-macrame, bead crochet, cordmaking, kumuhimo braiding, half-hitching, Cavandoli tapestry knotting...
Personal Note :: I have used this thread for years, even though it costs more per yard than any of the other brand. It is a great choice if you need a color in several sizes or just a small amount of thread. Tuff Bead Cord is getting very popular - especially Size 3. It is an ideal size for crochet ropes with seed beads size 8/0. I keep ordering it and selling out, and the company I order from seems to have the same problem. They keep being out of stock too, so bear with us until we all adjust to the increased demand!
16 colors :: Select Size :: Note Size 5 is the most common size for micro macrame and the default choice when available.
Size 3 is a good choices for bead crochet ropes with 8/0 seed beads. Spooled by weight on plastic spools with cover. Yardage varies depending on thread Ø. For sizes available and yardage, see chart. Made in the USA.
